I put in another 20 wet and muddy miles today but I made
my goal of reaching Unicol gap and being able to get a ride to the town of
Hiawassee where I am checked into a cheap but dry and warm motel and having
beer and potato chips in the room. The sky cleared for a few hours this morning
and I was able to get this shot of the mountains about 5 miles after my start
this morning at Neels gap. I am now about 52 miles from the start of the AT
