Harper's Ferry, WV - Nobo 1019

Just checked in to the Econo lodge 200 yards from the trail. Glad to be off my feet. Today was about 18 miles. Went through some interesting Civil War earthworks (I think) at Loudoun Heights (well known Civil War defensive position), as I descended to the Shenandoah River before Harper's Ferry:

Unfortunately the restaurants and stores are 1.5 miles away. I am going to take a taxi and save those miles for the trail.  This is a selfie as I cross the bridge over the Shenandoah River into Harper's Ferry:
