Catawba, VA, Nobo 704

Slack packed 22 miles today. Passed by the memorial to wear Audie Murphy the most decorated US soldier in World War II as well as a famous actor died in a plane crash. This picture is the view from the ridge just before reaching Dragon's tooth a set of rocky cliffs with a very difficult descent:



This involved climbing over very steep rock which sometimes has metal rungs placed but many times without. This shot is an example of what that seven tenths of a  mile of rough climbing looked like:


I was very lucky to be slack packing over that difficult section rather than carrying my 30 pound pack.
